Hello! My name is Hareesh Amjuri and I am the founder of Kulture Street. In April 2020, as the pandemic raged on across the country one community was hit particularly hard. That is the Indian hand artisans. Overnight they lost their access completely to all their sales channels like exhibitions, street markets and offline stores. As per the Ministry of Rural Development, India is home to more than 7 million artisans and over 3000 craft forms. Yet, there are only a handful of brands that cater to the Indian artisans. Why? • Artisans are Fragmented • Produce to cater to their local markets • Stuck to traditional sales channels (melas, streets etc.,) • Lack of Access to Capital to Scale • Very little Knowledge of Brand Building & Marketing • No resources for E-commerce set-up & management This gap has led me to start Kulture Street. We launched Kulture Street with the vision to be the brand known for all things Indian Culture and with a Mission to provide skilled Indian artisans a larger market access (online/offline) and also build a community of loyal customers that love Indian handmade products, across the globe. How do we do it? • We identify skilled hand artisans working on unique handmade products • Work with them to curate a collection of products • We create product background stories • Onboard these products on Kulture Street website, marketplace We have so far launched product collections in Terracotta based home décor products, kitchenware, wearables, and puja décor. In the 18 months since we have been operational, we have generated a revenue of 61 lakhs and an artisan income of 21.5 lakhs. We have also established strong partnerships by Signing an MoU with Sanjeevini (KSRLPS) – Govt of Karnataka & NULM, Govt. of Karnataka. We have also partnered with Indian retail chains in Singapore and Canada to sell our products through their stores. We are targeting a revenue of 1 crore in the current financial year. How do we intend to achieve this? 1. Scaling our production in the 3 of our top selling categories. We are currently at 600 units per month. We want to grow this to 3000 units per month 2. Launch 30 new designs in our Puja décor collection 3. Grow our market place channel to generate 30 lakhs of revenue and 10 lakhs from our out of India channels I am looking to raise a seed round of 1.5 crore rupees to enable this growth.
