Blood gas Analyzer – Veterinary In veterinary medicine, blood gas analysis is particularly important in cases of respiratory or metabolic disorders, trauma, shock, anesthesia monitoring, and critical care management. It helps veterinarians assess the patient's condition accurately and make informed decisions regarding treatment and patient care. In veterinary medicine, a blood gas analyzer is a diagnostic equipment that measures different parameters in a blood sample, such as pH, partial pressure of oxygen (pO2), partial pressure of carbon dioxide (pCO2), bicarbonate concentration ([HCO3-]), base excess (BE), and oxygen saturation (sO2). These measurements are useful for determining an animal's acid-base balance, oxygenation state, and general respiratory and metabolic performance. To conduct these measures, blood gas analyzers normally need a tiny blood sample from the patient, which is commonly drawn from an artery.
