Brief profile of Vedam Agro Enterprises Vedam Agro Enterprises had a humble beginning in 2014 as a localized enterprise manufacturing home based food products such as pickles, candies, and dried items of vegetables and fruits that are locally available. An entrepreneurial venture of Kshetrimayum Vedmani Devi, by profession a food & nutrition specialist, the Enterprises gradually expanded its activity base from its headquarters at Sagolband Salam Leikai in Imphal West District to a production unit at Khongman Zone-III East and a nursery unit at Top Khongnangkhong in Imphal East District. Within the span of the next five years, the Enterprises had grown to a state level organization with networking of other similar entrepreneurs in various pockets of Manipur, and with outreaches in Guwahati, Kolkata, New Delhi, Ahmedabad and Mumbai among some of the important cities in India. In furthering its market, the Enterprises opened a business outlet in Kolkata city during 2019 and which is being managed by her sister Vedrani Kangjam. The Enterprises associates with farmer producers in various tribal villages in the hill districts of Manipur and organizes advocacy training programs for local producers. The Enterprises is currently managed by Kshetrimayum Vedmani Devi as its proprietor cum Managing Director, with the Kolkata unit managed by Vedarani Kangjam as its Co-Director. Vedam Agro Enterprises associates with various institutions such as the National Small Industries Corporation Ltd; MSME-Technology Centre Imphal (FFDC Project); ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre; Spices Board Field Office Churachandpur (Manipur); Department of Commerce & Industries, Manipur; North East Women Entrepreneurs Association, Manipur Chapter as a Vice Presidentand ANUPRERONA - advisor Manipur State among others. Vedam Agro Enterprises received the Best of India.BIZ Award in the category of Best Agro Products in the 17th Edition of Agro F&B PR (2019 World Expo & Conference, 3rd to 5th December) at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Goregaon East (Mumbai). During 2019, the Enterprises’ proprietor Kshetrimayum Vedmani Devi was awarded Best North-East Woman Entrepreneur 2019 by Guwahati based organization Anuprerona, and Iconic Faculty Award 2019 by Jaipur based Saksham Society & Parishkar College of Global Excellence.
