We have created an innovative model to redefine event planning and gifting in India. The name of our application is Jugo, aimed at addressing existing pain points around event planning - which is an offline and chaotic process. For any event that a person wants to organize, they have to contact and co-ordinate with different vendors. We are creating a platform to bring together these vendors so the customer can easily explore and connect with the vendors of their choice (resulting in increasing visibility and revenue for business owners). We are also disrupting the event gifting space, which is predominantly a unidirectional process (from guest to host), by introducing the concept of gift registry along with electronic invites. A host can simply create an event, add gifts of their choice in a gift registry and share the invite with the guests. Upon receiving the invite, guests can view the registry and proceed by purchasing the item they would like to give as a gift - all within the Jugo app itself. We feel that this business model is scalable as more and more people are taking out time to celebrate occasions and giving gifts due to increasing urbanization, rising standard of living and proliferation of nuclear family households.
