Introduction Me and my wife are starting a new venture into confectionary products, initially starting with choco bar and white bar segment for pan India market. We have 2 products lined up now ready for the production stage. The business It’s a unique recipe choco bar and white centre fills for the Indian market, for which currently there is no competition available, even in the global market at a price point of Rs.5/- and Rs.10/- respectively. It will be transferred to the regular distribution and retail network, keeping in mind the best possible rates to this network as a word of mouth publicity and marketing strategy. Current plans are to start with goa, being our base and simultaneously expanding the markets vastly through india. The business is very much cash based and lucrative in profit making, hence the expected rate of returns and progress is on a higher side. We plan to acquire a good network in at least 4-5 neighboring states in the first year itself. The market The confectionery market is void for everyone. We as Indians have a very sweet tooth, be it young or old, all genders and all ages are very fond of sweets, be it cakes cookies chocolates or any other toffees. Also to consider is currently we will be having a monopoly for our product as it is an untouched combination. The research has been done over a period of 1 year with 3000-4000 different age groups of people, and the results and feedback has been phenomenal. For a price point of Rs.5/- and Rs.10/- people are very much willing to try out new products. Progress As per market studies and research done at our grass root level, the feedbacks from the retailers are very positive. Details can only be done after venturing into it. And a very big plus point is that in india the chocolate and confectionary industry is 70% of unorganized sector, where in Cadbury being the biggest player with the 10% market share and nestle with 1-2%. 18-20% is with the imported chocolates. Logically the business is very safe with hardly any failures in the segment. Future plans Establishing a brand in india and putting india on the global map with our range of products. And we also plan to introduce a new unique product unavailable in the market at regular bi-yearly intervals, with proper research. Keeping our initial investors and distribution network at the highest satisfaction levels will always be a priority. We live with a motto of always being grateful to the people who have helped us in the beginning of the journey and through the rough seas, be it the investors, suppliers or the distribution retailer network. We would try our best to keep up the rate of returns to these special friends who would help us as angels. Once the progress ladders are climbed, the world will be ready to support, but our priority will always be towards the people who believed in us in the beginning. The team The team is me and my wife, in which she being the proprietor and owner of the business. We have positively tied up with a company for manufacturing our products and have signed a non disclosure agreement on 1/7/2018, for business secrecy of the formulations. Personally I have been in my father’s manufacturing business of industrial packaging supplies for 11 years and my wife is a hobby chocolate maker. So we decided to team up and bring our expertise to mass production. She has her formulas and I am a negotiator representing her in the business world.
