MatClave Technologies is a Bengaluru-based deeptech hardware startup building automated hygiene-technology systems for shared, high-contact surfaces in healthcare, fitness, and lifestyle environments. Its flagship system delivers a fully automated, multi-modal sanitization process that produces a verifiable, auditable record of every cycle. The company is founded by Dr. Melvin Mathew (PhD, Mechanical Engineering, Drexel University; US patent holder in optical metrology; ~12 years in medical-device and advanced-manufacturing equipment) and co-founded by Dr. Sherry Bastin (Internal Medicine physician advising on microbiological and clinical validation). Shared, high-contact surfaces in healthcare, fitness, and lifestyle settings are significant reservoirs for microbial transmission. Current cleaning is manual, inconsistent, labour-dependent, and unverifiable — operators and end-users have no reliable proof that a surface was actually sanitized to a defined standard. MatClave has developed an automated, continuous-flow sanitization system that applies a sequence of validated kill modalities in a single, closed cycle with built-in safety interlocks. Each cycle is dose-verified and produces a timestamped, QR-coded "trust artifact" — converting an unverified manual chore into a fast, standardized, auditable process. It is an India-first system combining continuous-flow automation, multiple validated kill modalities, and closed-loop verification in one integrated unit — distinct from manual cleaning and from single-mode prior-art devices. The auditable, machine-generated proof-of-sanitization record is a category differentiator, supported by a provisional patent filing in progress.
