Medhini Farmers Producer Company Ltd is majorly in Agriculture and allied activities business . Having registered at Haveri, Karnataka with the objective to provide services to farming community,to Reduce cost of cultivation through input linkage and to increase or improve productivity by providing latest technology guidance,best practices in the Agriculture, to promote organic farming,Capacity Building Training by resource personsfrom KVK, Agri and Horticulture universities to FPO Members/Directors.further , direct marketing by creating own brand, marketing linkage of produce of farmers for increasing economic well being of farmer community to eliminate middlemen. .Board of Directors have a good background with technical ability in Agricultural Field, Social Development, Business management etc. Haveri, Bellary, Chitradurga Districts in Northern,Eastern and central part of Karnataka with more than 80% of the population being dependent on Agriculture sector. The district is a semi rain fed region and the Rivers namely Varada, Kumudwati, Dharma & Tunga Bhadra,vanivilasa flow through the Districts. This proves that most of the Agriculture lands are sufficiently irrigated. The major crops are Maize, Cotton, Groundnuts, onions, Chillies & few pulses & grains and Horticulture crops. Objectives of the MFPCL: • To carry on the business of producing, marketing and otherwise dealing in all agriculture products produced by the members of the Company. • To provide awareness and training in eco-friendly farming, its principles and techniques. • To render technical services, consultancy services, training, research and development for the promotion of the objectives of the Company and for the up-liftmen of its members. • To engage in the Conservation, Preservation and effective usage for Agriculture farming. • To establish and manage market centers, seed banks, processing units, laboratories, research institutions, factories, workshops, training centers etc. • To promote and encourage Farmers Interest groups of collective farmers. • Encourage farmers in adopting scientific management practices in Agriculture. • To encourage farmers to take up poultry, dairying, Goat & Sheep farming as a business activity. Activities of the MFPCL for the year 2020-21: • To provide Capacity building training to Board members and farmers. • To take field visit. • Educating farmers on latest Agriculture Management techniques. • To supply Inputs. • Assisting members financially for agri-inputs. • Providing market linkage for the produce. • To market our own branded millets.
