The incineration of Medical waste or any waste is normal and proven technique. The current practise is the waste is collected from hospitals and treated as bio-waste and is taken to remote location where it is incinerated and then buried in deep pits in accordance with world standards In current situation like COVID Pandemic, The COVID bio waste is also collected in same manner as any other bio-waste in current scenario. This situation is alarming and causing problems to health workers, sanitary workers and all related essential service people that are in line coming in contact directly or indirectly Medical innovation is coming with a concept that will address the COVID waste treatment in line with the approved WHO Guidelines/Indian Govt. Guidelines at source. Hence this concept is both innovative in product and process in India. The concept if successful can be used to manage or expand to various other areas and hence the application can reach across platforms. Hence this concept becomes innovative in application and the product and process are again innovative. Likewise, the current service model is a process where these products need to be procured (Involving of CAPEX) and then train team and operate and hence costing resources for many hospitals/govt. bodies and other areas. However, Medical Innovation will invest in equipment and reducing the burden on the Consumer Users (Hospitals, MCH, Govt. Bodies, Shopping Malls, Multiplexes, Towns, Districts, townships etc) and will instead plan to segregate and treat not COVID waste in initial phase but can expand to all Municipal waste at service. This will generate large scale employment, standard business operations. We foresee many other companies to copy and enter in this segment creating increase service level and delivery mechanism to the consumers. This itself is a service innovation that was not practised in the current scheme of things. Hence this idea is innovative in product, process, and services in India. Based on the volume and success factors, the same model can be replicated internationally in future. Our understanding is this solution will currently solve COVID mgmt. but will eventually contribute significantly in professional manner to reduce India waste problems and SWACH Bharat Mission will receive more teeth to its fructification.
