Morris Builder and Interiors Private Limited ( MBIPL) – Business Activity Brief MBIPL has been formed to cater to the rapidly growing building interior market , beginning with the Indian Market. The building interior market consists of two main components in terms of materials, wood/upvc and metal. MBIPL would be focusing on the metal part. Wood/UPVC is used in interiors for buildings as base materials for doors, windows, cabinetry for kitchens and shutters/carcass for wardrobes. The wood /UPVC is supported by joinery , mostly metal. In the case of doors , the metal would comprise of hinges, tower bolts , door closers, handles, lock-body and locks , for kitchen cabinetry it would comprise of cabinet hinges, sliders, sliding systems, handles, profiles to name a few, for wardrobes it would comprise of door hinges, sliding fittings , sliders , locks and such fittings .Today, most of the metal components used in interiors are imported ( 90%) . MBIPL strives to initially build a reputation in this market catering to residential and hospitality segments for interiors and then progressing into manufacturing metal parts like hinges, sliders lock-body and locks in India itself and build on the theme of Make in India for this segment. MBIPL expects to reduce the import dependence for this segment from 90% to at least 80% in the next 10 years. MBIPL aims to build up a portfolio of customers ( B2B) by offering high quality products through outsourced manufacturing /importing initially and then convert the opportunity by manufacturing these products in India itself. MBIPL sees itself reaching a turnover of Rs 1000 crores in about 7 years time in this segment.
