The construction, agriculture, and textile industries contribute significantly to global waste pollution. The construction industry, alone, is responsible for 23% of air pollution, 50% of climate change impacts, 40% of water contamination, and 50% of landfill waste in India. Our start-up aims to address this issue by developing high-performance interior products like acoustic/wall panels, furniture, decor, luminaries, etc. using fungi-based biomaterials, promoting circular design and sustainability in the construction design industry. By utilizing agricultural waste (stubble), textile waste, targeting wastes of other such industries, and eliminating the use of conventional synthetic materials, we introduce an eco-friendly alternative to modern interior solutions. This company also pioneers the fungi biomaterial market in India. With our architectural background and strong industry network, we bridge the gap between material innovation and market needs, ensuring both functional excellence and aesthetic appeal in the final product. Additionally, India currently lacks a dedicated biomaterial library for the construction industry, and our long-term vision is to establish one. We aim to begin this journey with a versatile biomaterial like mycelium, introducing it first as high-performance acoustic/ wall panels and other related products. With the Indian interior design market poised for significant growth, this initiative will lay the foundation for a sustainable and innovative future in construction materials.
