Naomi Code is eliminating inventory heavy model of garment industry using rapid prototyping and just-in-time manufacturing. In traditional supply chain, each garment needs to be manufactured in large volume. If a product is not appealing, there is a huge inventory overhang which leads to loss of value across the supply chain. Unsold inventories are subjected to discounting and sold much lower than cost of making. We, on the other hand, are able to provide significantly higher choices to the customer without creating huge inventories using rapid prototyping and also reducing ecological footprint. We have a talented pool of designers who produce trendy designs, with the help of skilled artisans, daily. These products are then photographed in-house and uploaded on the website. If a customer orders a product it is manufactured rapidly using our just-in-time CAD based manufacturing setup for which technology has been imported from Israel. We are nurturing a direct manufacturer to consumer business line using eCommerce, which eliminates the need of intermediaries like distributors, whole sellers & retailers. The elimination of these layers help us in commanding higher gross margins which result in higher emoluments for weavers and artisans. Our artisans have seen an average jump of 35% in their incomes as opposed to working in factories of high volume manufacturers. Our current average pay per tailor is INR 18,500, which is significantly higher than industry average rate of INR 12,500. We are working on virtual fitting room technology with Israel based OptiTex to improve efficiency and significantly reduce return rate.
