Screen printing is a printing technique where a mesh is used to transfer ink onto a substrate, except in areas made impermeable to the ink by a blocking stencil. A blade or squeegee is moved across the screen to fill the open mesh apertures with ink, and a reverse stroke then causes the screen to touch the substrate momentarily along a line of contact. This causes the ink to wet the substrate and be pulled out of the mesh apertures as the screen springs back after the blade has passed. One colour is printed at a time, so several screens can be used to produce a multi-coloured image or design. Originally, we used to print our glassware products using manual machines which consumed a lot of working hours and required a lot of manpower. Also, with these machines, fine and quality printing is not possible. Since this work is done manually there is a lot of breakages which is not cost-efficient. The production speed for each booth is 6 pcs/min. And these items can be printed in 1 colour at once. There were several designs that could not be printed in this workplace. Now with the help of the new Automatic machine, we can design up to 6 colours on single piece of glassware.
