Medical doctors in India (and most other countries) rely on paper prescriptions as the primary health record even today, despite its inherent deficiencies (disjointed patient datasets, lack of continuity of care, etc.). This results in an expensive and inefficient process, directly having a negative impact on overall health care. On the other hand, current techniques around EMR takes the doctors' eyes away from the patient, to type patient data via a computer screen. Here is a novel approach. Online Medical Records eXchange (OmRx) is a platform exclusively for doctors, to digitize paper prescriptions, test reports, referral letters, and many more, resulting in anytime anywhere access of patient data to health professionals.
