Orbin is the trademark name of our innovative product range of composters that treat organic waste at the point of generation without the use of power in a one-way continuous flow process. The convenience and ease of use will drive large scale adoption. We have two products – Orbin Solo, suitable for individual households, small residential complexes, office cafeterias etc., and Orbin Stax -suitable for bulk waste generators like apartment complexes, restaurants etc Product Innovation: Orbin products use the aerobic composting method with multi-stage aeration for odour free and faster composting. Additionally, the harvesting of the compost has been greatly simplified and requires minimum effort. Orbin is the only composter that separates the liquid nutrient from the decomposing organic matter, thereby reducing the composting cycle time. Orbin is built using FRP which makes it corrosion free and long lasting. Orbin is a near-zero maintenance product, as there are no moving parts and hence no down-time. Process improvement: Orbin enables “at source” composting, eliminating the need for transportation of waste. Additionally, the process eliminates multiple handling of waste and uses minimal labour. Composting accelerator (Enzymes) that are used in Orbin have been custom developed keeping in mind the unique nature of organic waste generated and Indian climatic conditions. Service Model Innovation: We have developed a service model that provides waste management as a service at a nominal subscription cost from bulk waste generators. This is a scalable model which enables creation of employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for self-help groups and entrepreneurs.
