Startup Description – Onloop Energy Onloop Energy is a clean energy startup focused on providing small wind, solar, and hybrid renewable energy solutions for commercial and industrial consumers. Our mission is to make wind energy accessible to businesses that previously could not benefit from it due to the high capital requirements of traditional megawatt-scale wind turbines. Traditionally, wind power projects in India have required investments running into crores and large land parcels, limiting participation to large developers. Onloop Energy addresses this gap by deploying small wind turbines with capacities ranging from 1–100 kW, enabling decentralized wind energy adoption. When combined with solar systems, these installations can be scaled to develop solar–wind hybrid plants reaching megawatt-scale capacity. Our key innovation lies in designing integrated solar and small wind hybrid systems that maximize energy generation and land utilization. Solar energy provides predictable and steady daytime generation, reducing risk for clients, while wind energy helps increase the overall Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) of the plant and significantly boost total energy output. While solar typically generates around 4–5 units per kW per day annually, wind energy at suitable sites can generate 8–10 units per kW per day, offering higher generation potential. Additionally, wind turbines require spacing between installations, leaving unused land in conventional wind farms. By installing solar panels in the land between wind turbines, we significantly increase energy generation per square meter of land, achieving better land utilization compared to standalone solar or wind power plants. By combining wind and solar, our systems can deliver more stable and near round-the-clock renewable power, reducing grid dependence and improving energy reliability.
