Ouija Biosolutions Pvt. Ltd. was incorporated in April 2018 with registered office in Guwahati, India. Its origins were in the thought that the nascent biotech sector of Northeast India required a robust push and science entrepreneurship has to be the way ahead. The region is a treasure-trove of bio-resources that are at risk from unsustainable exploitation and lack of R&D. Assam Agarwood, although a veritable tradition, has been plagued into neglect. The first initiative of Ouija Biosolutions is to work on a technology for the benefit of the agarwood sector. BIRAC (Govt. of India) support in the form of Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG) in 2017 provided us the first platform to establish our idea that fungal fermentation can enhance the quantity and quality of the fragrant Assam Agarwood oil. We have taken the initiative with the first of its kind laboratory set-up on agarwood fermentation and distillation in Guwahati Biotech Park. With 650 sq. ft. of lab space, 9 custom-designed Solid State Fermenters and a qualified team of technical manpower supported by an experienced Advisory Board, we are equipped to develop the best market-oriented R&D for our bio-resources.
