One of the gravest challenges being faced in the world is the impact hacking and stealing of data is having. As people, governments, organisations, companies … become more and more reliant on IT with systems like IOT, that depend on 4G/5G, Ethernet, Wi-Fi or other means of being functional, hacking is expected to be the biggest disruptor of lives, as malicious agencies can hack into networks, make devices malfunction, steal information and even cause accidents and disasters. In just the past few years, there have been attacks of this kind on the US election, stealing of data, that is then published elsewhere or used for patent infringements and in the recent times, extensive hacking of our Country’s networks from our neighbours. Our websites get attacked and defaced, our security camera networks get hacked, and turned off, or are used for monitoring us, our infrastructure establishments like power plants are made to malfunction. The examples of such malicious attacks are there almost on a daily basis every where in the world. With technology dependence growing and technology becoming more de-centralised as public transport starts to run without drivers, cars also become driver-less, drones, robots and so on helping us run our lives, technologies at home that turn off and on automatically, all our Industries and Defence establishments secured by technology, the risk that someone can hack in and take over all of this and control our destiny, escalates significantly.
