PARARTH LIVELIHOOD PROMOTION PRIVATE LIMITED
Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh
In their own words
Goat Bank (Micro Leasing of Goats) is an improvement over traditional system by managing risk systematically and following sound principles by ensuring proper services, quality of goats and financial products. The company has proposed to start backyard goat farming activity in the region, in the form of Goat Bank. The proposed Goat Bank would have a model similar to that of hybrid contract farming and share-cropping in agriculture. Instead of loaning ‘cash’ to buy goats or distribute goats on grant, the Goat Bank would loan out 2 to 3 month pregnant goats to the interested existing and/or prospective goat farmers. Apart from loaning out goats, the company would provide bundled and essential veterinary services, insurance cover and market support to the goat farmers. Instead of taking interest on loan, the company would collect 50% share in the profits. This model becomes a win-win proposition for both farmers and the Company.
