Parsec Aerospace is engaged in the research, design, development, and manufacturing of innovative reaction engines (gas turbines / jet engines) for aerospace and defence applications. The startup is developing a novel propulsion technology based on Rotating Detonation Engine (RDE) architecture integrated with additive manufacturing processes, which represents a significant technological advancement over conventional combustion systems currently used by global incumbents. This approach engineers propulsion systems from first principles rather than incrementally improving legacy designs, delivering measurable improvements in fuel efficiency, structural weight reduction, unit cost, and maintenance cost. The startup addresses a critical gap in India's aerospace ecosystem — the absence of domestically developed high-efficiency reaction engines — with a clear product-market fit identified in India's defence UAV micro-gas-turbine segment, estimated at approximately $110 million. Currently at the prototype development stage, the venture has significant potential to generate skilled employment in the aerospace manufacturing sector and reduce India's dependence on imported propulsion systems for defence and aviation applications.
