Bothe the founders are a leading voice for the eco-system and region’s largest underrepresented communities. They have been recognized, Locally, Nationally and Internationally for their efforts, and their work and project has been profiled by thousands of print, digital media networks (including TIME Magazine, BBC, CNN, Bloomberg, Nasdaq, ABP News, REBUBLIC TV etc.) to maximize national and international awareness for the plight of the Himalayan shepherd and artisan communities. He also has been given the title of “The Most Credible Man/Voice on Pashmina in the World”. PGP leverages its' uniquely strong community ties and partnership capabilities to develop a sustainable Pashmina value chain while creating sustainable, conscious and organic Pashmina products reflecting a singularly rare aesthetic. The project is aligned to UN SDGs and is poised to deliver on majority of the SDGs by 2030. Social Impact In addition to providing attractive compensation for local villages producing the Pashmina stock, PGP will also reinvest 6 percent of revenues into developing local communities. The reinvestment will be used to develop schools and training centres for village artisan communities, and to address mobile connectivity and mobile housing needs for shepherd communities. PGP has already developed template models for mobile outreach and for mobile housing. PGP’s initiative is projected to empower over 30,000 artisans, 6000 shepherds and 150,000 pashmina goats. Markets PGP will effectively play in the Indian and Global Fashion, Luxury and Affordable Sustainable Luxury Markets. The overall global luxury market is projected to maintain solid mid-single-digit growth rates into the mid-term (4 – 5% CAGR), according to Bain. Key drivers include increases in global digital reach and in the favourable demographics of the luxury consumer class. The Affordable Sustainable Luxury (Aspiration) segment shares some of the growth drivers that propel the overall market, but targets the aspiration B+ middle class (income groups 100 -150% above average income per capita levels). The greater accessibility of affordable fashion enables it to reach much larger demographic groups, and consequently a far greater variety of retail destinations. India has been considered as perhaps the most dynamic luxury market since 2008, and is projected to continue growing at c.86% through 2018 despite the relatively subdued economic environment.
