Trichoderma is a very effective biological method for plant disease management, especially for the control of soil borne diseases. Trichoderma is a fungus. Trichoderma can be successfully used for the control of soil-borne plant diseases. In our country, more than 50 percent of the total damage caused by diseases to crops is caused by soil-borne plant disease factors, which are not being successfully controlled by other methods. Therefore, diseases from different species of Trichoderma are effectively controlled, among which Trichoderma asperellum, harzinium and Viridi are used. These soil borne pathogens like Rhizoctonia, Sclerotium, Sclerotinia, Macrophomina, Pythium, Phytophthora and Fusarium etc. completely or partially destroy them and control various diseases caused by them like seed rot, wet rot, root rot, blight and wilting. A friendly fungus named Trichoderma is very useful for the prevention of soil borne fungal diseases like root rot, stem rot etc. in crops. It is used in seed treatment, root treatment and soil treatment, due to which a large number of this friendly fungus is created artificially around the roots of crops. Trichoderma slows down the growth of diseasecausing harmful fungi in the soil and kills them slowly.
