Pickles by PC is a small, honest effort to share some beautiful memories and the age-old tradition of pickle making by our Grandmothers and Mothers in almost all the Indian households.We share! We rejoice! We revel in this tradition where the women (within the family, extended families and the neighbourhood) come together to prepare hundreds of kilos of pickles for the entire year. This is about clean, honest food prepared at home and sharing it with you all – with affection! Artisanal . Homemade . Flavourful – At Pickles by PC, we make batches of pickles using heirloom recipes over warm conversations. All pickles are prepared using traditional pickle-making techniques without using any artificial preservatives. These pickles stay for years at end without spoilage ( just like all homemade pickles of yesteryears were) The mission Pickles by PC uses quality, handpicked ingredients, sourced especially from women around the country. Each ingredient is of a very high quality with spices ground at home. The products available through the website for online orders. However, Preeti enjoys personal connections and communication with her customers and is available on phone. Preeti is a documentary filmmaker and aims to form a collective of women skilling many more people especially women who might be facing a similar challenges that she experienced and turning them into individual entrepreneurs. Pickles by PC is aimed at providing livelihood opportunity to girls, school drop-outs and women from marginalised backgrounds by employing and including them in the pickling process. In the process,we are also building capacities of women and young girls to become independent and confident. We aim to create Independent women entrepreneurs! A social campaign Pickles by PC has started a social media campaign #MenstruationGivesLifeNotShame The idea is to spread awareness and fight the stigma attached to Menstruation where women are forbidden from touching pickles while menstruating among many other associated taboos.
