PROBLEM STATEMENT : An average household spends about 156 hours a year (around 4 full work weeks) only on doing a mundane chore — laundry. While outsourcing laundry has become a need, especially for working professionals, the choices are limited, inconvenient and expensive. People are forced to take time out to drop-off and pick-up their laundry/dry-cleaning from outlets. Launders with home delivery come with their own set of inconveniences - High minimum orders, (only during working hours) and a 3-hour pick-up/delivery time window with a turnaround time of 5 days and several phone calls just to coordinate the delivery. SOLUTION: While retaining the core aspect of being a Cash cow, we aim to revolutionise the current laundry/dry cleaning market (that is fragmented, still operates in age old fashion with heavy fixed costs and lacks scalability) by establishing an intelligent technology driven on-demand platform that both optimises the supply side and provides convenient and affordable concierge service to consumers. We call this platform, Piing! — Just Piing! for Laundry and/or Dry-cleaning. DEMAND SIDE : – convenient and affordable laundry partner Piing!’s intuitive mobile and web apps enable consumers to seamlessly place an order in a few seconds and enjoy a host of convenient features. ‘Piing! All-Day’ pick-up and delivery service (Until 11 pm, 7 days a week) with hourly time slots and just 1 day & 3 days turnaround time for express and normal service respectively. ‘Piing! Live’ enables customers to stay informed at every stage of their order and track the delivery staff with ETA in real-time. ‘Piing! Now!’ allows customers to book instantly (on-demand), facilitating the pick-up of their laundry within 60 minutes. Piing! is a one-stop solution for all wardrobe cleaning needs – Laundry, Dry Cleaning, Curtain Cleaning, Carpet Cleaning, Leather Cleaning, Luxury Bag Cleaning and Shoe Cleaning. With all these features and professional garment care available at almost the price of in-house laundry (considering the time of users), Piing! would be the perfect laundry partner to every household to completely outsource their garment care. SUPPLY SIDE: - driven by technology, making it cost-effective and scalable Piing! adopts a hybrid model both for laundry (garment processing) and logistics (pickups and deliveries). In the laundry front, it owns laundry factory and also functions as an aggregator of launderers, who benefit from better utilisation of capacity. In the logistics front, 90% of the staff are freelancers (e.g. Grab taxi drives) and the remaining 10% are full time staff. Hybrid model not only ensures minimum fixed costs but gives flexibility in adjusting supply to demand at optimal cost and maintain consistent quality. Piing!’s AI driven technology is at the heart of its business model and it optimally manages end-to-end operations (right from warehousing, laundry production (within the factory) to logistics management) with minimal human intervention, making its operations extremely efficient, cost-effective and scalable. Piing!’s proprietary (patent-pending) Logistic Management System (LMS) — we call it ‘the invisible hand of logistics’ — uses intelligent algorithms to completely manage the logistics with almost no human intervention. It continuously does a temporal and spatial analysis to predict the demand, geographically clusters the orders and assigns them to the right field staff, monitors the schedules of every field staff, send alerts in case of anomalies and ensures cost-effective and timely logistics.
