PrintProxy - Privacy! Even When Printing!👀 Problem> What is need for PrintProxy ?In India, massive chunk of public rely on physical paper for different work. Be it school/college application or any other official/govt work, Xerox-print shop is there go to place for getting the physical copy of the document. This massive chunk also includes govt. and private bodies like courts, hospitals, colleges/Universities, financial firms which rely on paperwork heavily. The main problem in the whole picture is when the customers shares their document via their personal identifiers like phone, WhatsApp, email, etc. These info are PII and should be secured at any cost. Not just that, the copies of the documents are also shared with the shop owners, and doing that is always risky. The problem here is, if you’ve ever been to a shop-xerox shop then your phone number and document is out there in public, already. This practice heavily contributes to the cyber crime too. To solve this we definitely need something which can help us transfer file securely and that too for limited period of time along with maintaining the PII safe. This is where PrintProxy comes into picture.# 💭 ProposalHow PrintProxy will solve this?PrintProxy, as the name suggest will always act as an intermediary which will help forward the document to the final recipient with security by preventing your profile being shared and also have a control over the document life (post the print/xerox task is completed the file will be inaccessible/deleted). The vendor or the shop owners will always receive the document from our identifier i.e. PrintProxy Bot with the JobID (right now in the form of BOT, later we will be accessible in more ways). The JobId will be shared to both the vendor and the customers so that they can map the owner of the task/job. We are planning to launch this as a WhatsApp Bot first and then slowly come to other messaging platform as well. And later, our own Native app with the support of sending the print/xerox request on the fly. There will be good amount of security features which will be implanted to have a safe printing experience. For example: OTP based Printing/Xerox where the vendor won’t be able to print until the OTP is shared, Self destructive document where the document will be deleted post printing. There’s more, we will be providing a beautiful vendor portal wherein the shopkeepers will be able to manage all the Print/Xerox orders. The vendor portal will provide all the crucial metrics like paper used, printer health, colour consumed, stock of the paper, total money earned, etc.This product can be further leveraged to have multiple other use cases too, for example multi social media bridge wherein Facebook Guy can talk to Twitter Guy. Below are the pointers we would work:- Security - no PII being shared- Document lifeline - Document will be removed/deleted upon print/xerox completion- Fixed rate- Pretty standard print quality- simple process as simple as ordering a food- Provision for directly sending a courier/mail to any address- Provision for directly sending a print job to anywhere, any place where PrintProxy vendor is there.
