1. Protigenix has set up an R&D unit and made it fully functional with a goal to develop technology for manufacturing Plasma-derived Products like Intravenous Immunoglobulins, Human Albumin, Factor VIII, Factor IX, and Fibrin sealant kit. 2. Promoters of Protigenix are medical Practitioners and are very keen to complete the R&D phase in the next twenty to thirty-six months and scale it up to the manufacturing level. 3. As there are very few companies who are into these products, and India is still importing 40% of the products to meet its demand, we felt to have a lot of scope to work on these molecules. 4 We are trying to collaborate with National and International research institutes whenever it is needed to complete the project successfully. 5. We have currently 90 employees and trying to recruit another 10 in the coming months. We have plans to continue our R&D for other products like C1 Esterase inhibitor, Alpha 1 Antitrypsin, Anti thrombin Ill and Hyper immunes along with the products mentioned above in a phased manner. 6. In line with our manufacturing aspirations, we have purchased 5-acre land from Andhra Pradesh Med Tech Zone Limited, Visakhapatnam, to erect a manufacturing facility capable of processing 1.5 lakh liters of plasma per annum, to cater to the domestic supply at an affordable cost along with global supplies.
