We are on a mission to make India sleep better. Our Product Neend (Sleep in English), aims to solve for Insomnia. We spend 33.3% of our lives sleeping but not even 0.3 % on how to improve it. At Neend, We are on a mission to change human lives by improving on this 33.3% of life. With a content approach we are taking an innovative approach to help people sleep. On our app, users can access a free library of bedtime stories, sleep music and meditation in their mother tongue. The existing content in the market exists in English, we are solving for India and creating the content in regional languages. People prefer to listen to something in their mother tongue while sleeping as the brain should shut down instead of becoming active to understand a different language or accent. We are going to add a couple of other relaxation techniques as well which will help them to relax and sleep. Globally more than 30% people are not able to fall asleep as quickly as they should Ideally and India is on the higher side of it being 2nd most sleep deprived country. There are various factors across lifestyle, physical health and mental health which impacts sleep. Our next steps would be to make users aware about the importance of each of these and help them to understand why they are not able to sleep well, to be able to fix it and have a healthy lifestyle. We are taking a unique blended approach 1. Short term but immediate solution with content: Sleep content in Indian regional languages doesn’t exist today. There is a plethora of content available in English and other global languages. We are making the user feel like they are listening to a story from their family members as they used to in their childhood days and with that comfort they fall asleep. Today, across 10000 users on our app, more than 90% users fall asleep while listening to the stories within 15 mins. With this immediate solution in hand, users have the ability to sleep whenever they want to. It’s helping them to fix their sleep routines as well. Once they start coming to the platform, now we will nudge them to take sleep assessments and share their sleep related troubles with us and nudge them to 2nd stage of our product. 2. Long term solution: Here the sleep expert will take a data driven approach and understand user’s sleep data well and help them to understand the route cause of the sleep problems users are facing and then help them with solutions i.e. supplements, exercises, lifestyle changes which will help users to overcome their sleep problems permanently. When it comes to sleep, there aren’t many solutions available in the market. The existing solutions eg. tracking devices, mattresses etc caters to a very specific problem but it doesn’t guarantee an outcome for the user's sleep as the diagnosis of sleep is not happening. At Neend, we want to help users with their sleep end to end and focusing on outcome rather than the product.
