RAISED LINES FOUNDATION (raisedlines.org) Raised Lines Foundation is a not for profit Section 8 company, incubated out of IIT Delhi with a vision of making tactile diagrams available to each and every student with visual impairment to be at par with their sighted friends in terms of content availability. We have formed end to end solutions for the development of tactile diagrams in an affordable and scalable manner. Note: Tactile diagrams are the embossed/raised representation of images that a blind person can touch and perceive. We started working in this area 4 years back at MEITY sponsored "Centre of Excellence in Tactile Graphics", IIT Delhi. At CoE in Tactile Graphics, IIT Delhi, we developed several tactile books like NCERT Mathematics, Science, Economics book, tactile map books, basic tactile learning books and many more to improve the education for visually impaired persons. But in order to have a significant impact, millions of diagrams from thousands of text books are required to be converted to tactile form. Therefore, to further scale up the work and expand our capabilities to cater to this immense unmet need, we incubated a Not for profit Section 8 company "Raised Lines Foundation”. This company has been formed out of the know-how created from "CoE in Tactile Graphics". We provide tactile design and production services and are closely working with NCERT, Sarv Shiksha Abhiyaan (Govt. of India), WSSCC (UN organization), NIEPVD Dehradun and other organization working in the field of blindness.
