ConceptOwl is building India's largest teacher-less science and math tuition and entrance coaching chain for tier 2/3 towns. PROBLEM Students in small towns and rural areas across India lack access to quality science learning and test prep opportunities. It remains an unsolved problem because it is not possible to find a large number of quality teachers required by the conventional brick and mortar 'coaching' format. Online learning removes the need for teachers but is not effective as most students lack the self-discipline to learn on their own. Hence parents still prefer to send their children to brick and mortar tuition centres despite their poor quality. SOLUTION For the first time in India, we are offering a teaching format which combines the discipline and enforcement of the classroom with the teacher-independence of online. - Our classes are run by facilitators who use life-like video classes in a classroom setting - After each video students take notes and will often be given problems to solve in the class. - Doubts are handled real-time by a remote instructor on standby, or via FAQ videos - Homework is assigned online on the app, which they complete at home - Regular tests are conducted online. A student who enrols into our program comes to our physical classroom according to their timetable. The classroom sessions are run in smart classrooms. A teaching assistant is always present in the class to ensure discipline. With the rigorous structure of the offline model, and scalability and quality of online, we aim to build India's largest chain of teacher-less affordable coaching.
