Relsus India Pvt Ltd was incorporated in 2020 by highly qualified and experienced professionals with most of their careers spent successfully at senior positions in top multinational companies including producing active pharmaceutical ingredients based on fermentation, enzymatic as well as chemical processes and selling & distribution of these products in global markets. “Relsus” stands for Reliability (Rel) & Sustainability (sus), both of which are central to the DNA of Relsus group. We refer Reliability & Sustainability with wider definition to include corporate responsibility towards all stakeholders including the society, employees, planet, suppliers and customers. Based on our experience, we believe a win-win harmonious business model is key to long term success and growth of any company. Relsus group has a mission to make India a global production hub for high quality Stevia products and its industrial formulations and Plant Based proteins. This will be achieved by developing integrated knowledge and implementing win-win business models. The steps would include R&D, lab trial, field trial, developing eco-system for mass cultivation by farmers, extraction of Steviol glycosides , plant based proteins and formulation of premix – ready to supply to Food & Beverage industry as well as Healthcare industry. Spotting global trend timely, Relsus has been investing in R&D to develop sustainable Stevia and plant based protein. We have developed a unique process to isolate protein from agri waste. These isolated purified proteins have potential to be used in plant based alternatives for meat, chicken, fish, milk and whey protein supplement. The benefits of the proteins developed by Relsus are, they have a neutral taste, neutral flavour/note, good amino acid profile and these will be sustainably produced in a water based extraction process. Hence plant proteins made by Relsus are ideal for alternative protein applications. India’s average per capita protein consumption has grown to 64 grams daily, while the consumption in China has grown to 103 grams and 110 grams in the US. When India’s protein consumption grows to 100 grams per day, we will need additional protein production of about 20 million tons annually. With our technology we have potential to generate at least 3-4 Mn tonnes of Protein from agri waste. This will cut down on imports of protein, which is likely to rapidly grow as protein consumption in India grows. In addition, we can bring India in the global supply chain of fast growing Global alternative protein market. This isolation of protein from agri waste has economic potential of USD 5-7 Bn and will weave a great Indian Story of Waste to Health and Waste. Potential of additional economic value of USD 5 Bn generates additional revenue for government, huge employment opportunities, higher income for all the people involved in the supply chain. Further our technology is also highly socially relevant as it aims to improve the animal health by providing better animal feed. This will potentially improve farmers income.
