Urban professionals and students face significant challenges while searching for compatible flatmates or roommates. Existing platforms are largely listing-based, offering limited personalization and relying heavily on manual screening. This often results in poor compatibility, safety concerns, information overload, and a high incidence of fraudulent or unverified profiles.Additionally, most platforms expose personal contact details too early in the discovery process, leading to privacy risks, unsolicited communication, and lack of user control. Ronita Software Private Limited, through its brand Roommit, addresses these challenges by building a privacy-first, smart flatmate discovery platform. Roommit utilizes deep learning based recommendation system that analyzes user preferences, behavioral signals, and swipe history to continuously improve match quality. This data-driven approach enables intelligent, compatibility-focused recommendations, rather than static listings. To strengthen trust and safety, the platform follows a controlled access model. Currently, only employees of selected verified organizations are allowed to register using organization-based credential verification. This significantly reduces fraudulent profiles and creates a trusted user ecosystem. In future phases, the platform will expand to include additional organizations and verified college students. From a privacy standpoint, Roommit is designed with a mutual consent-based communication framework. All personal contact information remains fully hidden until both users accept a connection request, ensuring user control and data security. Through deep learning based matchmaking, behavior-based recommendation algorithms, and a robust trust & safety architecture, Roommit offers a scalable and secure solution to modern flatmate discovery challenges in urban India.
