Amidst the lush greens of the Himalayas, imagine sitting with a cup of coffee and the most wonderful books. Roots & More (Pvt Ltd) is an effort to re-connect with the nature while keeping the love for arts alive. But then, how do you define arts? Since it is just not possible to insolate art into one singular category, we leave it open to explore. The idea is to harness all kinds of energy into a form of art at a retreat centre we propose to make. Of course, there would be highlights – the open kitchen-cum-book café connected to the self-sustained farms, the 40-seater theatre, the Kriya Bhawan, and that pottery corner to feel the mitti-ki-khushboo. As we proceed towards this venture, the idea is to first re-connect with our roots ourselves. We have been city-bound for years. The pandemic brought an opportunity to return to the roots, rejuvenate, feel the nature and reinvent it. We rediscovered the delicacies. From Bhatt ke Dubke to Bhangira Namak and Alloo Gutke to Madua Roti, rediscovering the taste has been wholesome. All these years, we never wanted to miss the taste. But there was little option to get the raw materials to cook each of the delicacy. So here’s what we are going to start with – an organic food brand that gives you an opportunity to connect to the Himalayas. We intend to source our products from the farmers and women-selfhelp-groups without any middlemen to give them the best price for their produce.
