SoarTrails: Discover and Explore Himalayan Trails Purpose:To become a marketplace (aggregator platform) for trekking, hiking and mountain expeditions. To become a one stop solution for getting each and every details for various himalayan trails. Problems:DiscoverabilityThere is no easy option available using which trekker can discover and explore multiple himalayan trails. With the reduced attention span of humans in past few decades, its harder for people to watch >10mins video in youtube, read articles and filter out posts from instagram to find out more granular details about the treks. Trekkers are unable to find real time or near real time weather conditions, photographs of various mountain trails. Trekker has to go through vlogs, blog posts across multiple online platform to find out the details about the trek. TransparencyIts harder to book customized packages, (i.e. if a trekker or a group of trekkers want to book a package only for 2 day meals, then there is no reliable and easy option available). Its harder for a buget trekker to find a trekking company which charges them the least and have decent reviews. Solution: SoarTrails conceptsoarTrails will provide an application based interface to the customer from where they can easily discover and find all the relevant details for various himalayan trails. Trail Discoverability: 1st USPJust like Instagram has a profile of people and businesses, soarTrails will have profiles of mountain trails. This trail profile will contain various details like: 360 degree panaromic view, Most recent weather conditions and photographs from the trekkers, Visualization of the trek altitude and trek distance between various checkpoints etc Just like Snapchat’s feature of discovering the snaps based on the locations in the map, soarTrails will have a feature for discovering the mountain trails using google maps. Package Customization: 2nd USPsoarTrails in collaboration with different trekking companies will provide customized packages to fellow trekkers. As soarTrails will be an aggregator platform just like Amazon, soarTrails can provide multiple offerings from various trekking companies to the budget trekkers. The budget trekkers can do a comparision and choose the most relevant option.
