Saafgram which stands for "Societal Adversities Awareness and their Fixation through Generous Relief Among Masses" is an organization (NGO) dedicated to provide a sustainable long-term solution to the problem of overwhelming mountains of dumpyards. Today, each city, semi-urban town, and village in India is struggling with these mountains of garbage and leading to the increment in cancer causing disease due to the leached water and polluted air. Hence, our NGO Saafgram has determined to solve this problem with segregation at source. We will convert the waste into value through segregation. Following is our revenue model. 1) Making people aware of the importance of segregating biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste at source. 2) Converting biodegradable waste into organic fertilizers such as manure and vermicomposting. 3) Recycling the plastic, paper, cardboard, metals, and low grade polythene, and selling it to recyclers. 4) Our waste management staff will look into open drainage issues and brooming of main-roads on daily basis. 5) The collection fees of Rs50 from individual households and Rs100 from shopkeepers will be charged each month. 6) The waste collectors will be paid a competitive salary of Rs10,000 monthly for their 8-hours shift job. They will also be provided a health insurance and bi-annually checkups from affiliated doctor. There are few more interesting things inline which will be implemented in due course of time.
