Sarasi Looms & Crafts Pvt Ltd, incorporated on 18th March 2023, is a profit-oriented social enterprise focused on revitalizing India’s handloom sector through design innovation, artisan empowerment, and market integration. We began with a pilot initiative involving 8 weavers in Peteru, Andhra Pradesh, where we introduced design-led interventions to enhance product value and improve artisan income. Over two years, we observed a measurable increase in weaver remuneration and engagement, validating our model. Sarasi has since expanded into ready-to-wear handloom garments, leveraging digital platforms for storytelling and sales. Our Instagram and YouTube channels showcase our commitment to slow fashion, cultural preservation, and contemporary design. We are now scaling operations with the following goals: - Onboarding 30+ weavers and expanding to neighboring villages. - Setting up a full-fledged garment unit for consistent production. - Building a dedicated sales and marketing team to drive revenue. - Automating inventory and operational systems for efficiency. - Developing new textures and design interventions for broader market appeal. Sarasi Looms & Crafts aims to become a trusted handloom brand nationally and internationally, contributing to employment generation, rural development, and the revival of traditional crafts.
