The Kombe is a physical product that conserves water used in irrigation by up to 90%, while increasing the crop growth rate by 30%. Made of 100% recycled insulating plastic, it prevents heat from entering or leaving the plant environment and acts as a mini-greenhouse. It avoids evaporation of soil moisture, and prevents weed growth. To further optimise water & electricity usage, soil, moisture & temperature sensors can be attached to the Kombe. These sensors would record real-time data that would then be saved to a cloud platform (named “Kombe Plus”) which upon analysis, can be used for precision farming.
