The twin problem of soil salinity and water logging is reaching an alarming proportion in Haryana. Around 10% of the state land has water table less than 3 meter deep. Considering that above 2/3 of Haryana area is under lain by marginally to severely saline or alkaline ground water, even partially use of such water for Irrigation is going to accentuate soil Salinity. Shirmps can be cultivated in marine and fresh both types of water, So , the water logged and salinity effected land is also suitable for shrimp cultivation. shrimp can be cultivated in such land and water which are not suitable for other agriculture crops. OPRAS ( Open Pond Re-circulatory Aqua Culture System ) a new technology of Shrimp farming is used by Shiva Aqua Farm Pvt. Ltd. The Culture water is always to reuse and treated to re-generate water quality suitable for the shrimp to grow. New water is however added to the Ponds to recover the water that might have been loses through either splashed water, evaporation and water that is used to flashed out waste materials. Shiva Aqua Farm has been indemnified as the most suitable and potential option for the utilization of these degraded and fragile resources for the cultivation of Shrimp. Farmer can earn more money by Shrimp cultivation and its exports also contribute to increase foreign currency in India Account. thousand of job will be generated in rural area and it will boost rural prosperity.
