An M-sand (manufactured sand) start-up solves the problem of river sand depletion and its associated negative environmental and logistical consequences. By creating a sustainable, high-quality alternative, this start-up addresses the construction industry's rising demand for fine aggregates while mitigating harm to river ecosystems. Through M-sand, this start-up prevents and solves— A. Environmental degradation 1. Destruction of river ecosystems The excessive and often illegal dredging of natural sand from riverbeds disrupts aquatic habitats, lowers the water table, and increases riverbank erosion. 2. Protection of natural resources By offering an alternative, M-sand production helps conserve limited natural sand reserves and reduces pressure on fragile ecosystems. This is especially important as sand is the second most consumed natural resource after water. B. Supply chain instability 1. Scarcity and unreliable supply: Depleting river sand resources lead to supply shortages, which can stall construction projects and cause price volatility. 2.
