The vision of SHPERO Health LLP describes agricultural, health and industrial utilization of multifarious xerophytes Opuntia species. The main objective is to develop products from the Opuntia species (Cactus) with core focus on "Waste to Value" and "Sustainable Development". Present focus on the agriculture cultivation of Opuntia to meet the market demand of medicinal products and then fodder, fertilizer and energy production. Initial Main product of the SHPERO Health LLP is the Medicinal Preparation (Betalains rich Extract from Cactus, Hempoin®) for the indication of Erythropoiesis and Immunity which is prepared using combination of biotechnology and modern approach with scientific evidence evaluated using preclinical, clinical and in vitro analysis. The brand name of product “Hempoin®” contains active ingredient Opuntia vulgaris fruit extract which is indicates for the treatment of anaemia and approved under schedule IV of the Food Safety and Standard Act, 2006. This is a health nutraceutical product and act as erythropoietic (blood formation process), immunomodulatory and antioxidant. The target for the erythropoiesis is not as supplement but totally evaluated novel target called Hypoxia Inducing Factor Prolyl Hydroxylase Inhibitor, by which endogenous Erythropoietin level stimulates, facilitates iron exporter (enhance iron absorption from gut as well transport stored iron from liver to bone marrow) and leads to erythropoiesis. This product indicated for the treatment of antenatal anaemia and renal anaemia.
