Project Brief: Advanced Solar-Powered Integrated Cold Chain Solution​Project Overview​Our project focuses on establishing a state-of-the-art Integrated Cold Storage and Distribution Hub designed to minimize post-harvest losses and maximize farmer income. We aim to bridge the gap between the farm gate and the end consumer by providing a temperature-controlled environment for perishable commodities such as fruits, vegetables, and dairy products.​Core Problem Addressed​In India, approximately 25-30% of agricultural produce is wasted due to the lack of adequate cold chain infrastructure. Small-scale farmers are often forced into distress sales because they cannot store their produce. Our facility provides:​Storage Longevity: Extending the shelf life of seasonal crops.​Price Stabilization: Allowing farmers to sell when market prices are favorable.​Quality Retention: Maintaining nutritional value and freshness.​Key Features & Innovation​Multi-Chamber Technology: Capability to maintain different temperature zones (0^{circ} ext{C} to 15^{circ} ext{C}) and humidity levels for diverse crop requirements.​Sustainable Energy: The facility is powered by a hybrid solar-grid system, significantly reducing operational costs and carbon footprint.​IoT Monitoring: Real-time tracking of temperature and gas levels (Ethylene/ ext{CO}_2) via mobile app for remote inventory management.​Last-Mile Connectivity: Small-scale refrigerated "reefer" vans to transport produce from the facility to local urban markets.​Impact and Scalability​We plan to start with a capacity of 5,000 MT in our first phase, specifically targeting high-value horticultural crops. Our business model is scalable through a "Hub and Spoke" network, allowing us to expand into neighboring districts, creating local employment and strengthening the regional agricultural economy.
