Raw areca nut processing is labour intensive and time consuming involving; separation of raw areca nut from bunch, removal of outer shell, segregating fully shelled, partially shelled and unshelled nuts, boiling of the nut, and finally drying. This business idea is to automate the entire process in order to reduce labour costs and processing time. This will increase farmer profit. Fully automated arecanut dehusk processing and collection system. • 95% Efficiency in this process overcome by 60% Efficiency in conventional process • Reduction in operating costs of arecanut processing • Savings in processing time • Reduced labour requirement. • Higher profit margin to the farmer The fully automate the above process using a vision based conveyer concept, thus increasing farmer profits. Removing individual raw nuts from bunch by placing in a rotating plate system. Crushing component to dehusk the nut (outer layer of shell). Boiler for boiling the nuts at specified temperature and specific duration. Hot air drier to dry the wet nuts at preset temperature and duration on conveyer. Automatic packing can also be included. Thus the farmer singles inputs the arecanut bunches and gets the finished product ready for marketing.
