SM Plant Production Technologies Private Limited incorporated on 23rd November 2015 is engaged in production of healthy and affordable planting material of fruit crops, to stat with Banana cv Elakki Bale ( syn Putta Bale, Ney Poovan) PachBale ( Syn Grand Naine, Robusta) and Red Banana using cell and tissue culture and Bioreactor Technology . This technology utilises embryogenic cell suspensions produced from floral meristems which are multiplied in bioreactors and subsequently converted to embryos which germinate into plantlets. The company has sound commercial production laboratory established by experienced research scientists. SM Plant Production Technology Pvt Ltd is led by Dr. Sukhada Mohandas , a former Principal Scientist of the Division of Biotechnology, ICAR- Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bangalore. Her team of workers at SM Plant Production Technologies Pvt Ltd. consists of young post graduates with hands on experience in cell/tissue culture. Dr.Sukhada mohandas is an accomplished scientist with more than 40 years of research experience . She has established protocols for large scale multiplication of banana plants using embryogenic cell suspensions and shoot tips in bioreactor.
