Socially Desi – an Indian home-grown digital platform that offers podcasts and articles curated by experts and featured authors. Born during the pandemic, the platform offers digital content curated by authors, experts, and influencers that caters to our ever-growing audience. Our website currently attracts ~20,000 visitors every month. The Socially Desi Show is an IMDb-approved podcast in which we discuss tips and strategies with guest speakers on how to tackle problems related to personal growth, mental health, relationships, entrepreneurship, and health and fitness. So far, we have spoken to the likes of Carolina Ravassa (Actor, Producer, Director), Sonalika Sahay (Supermodel), David Menkin (Actor and Voice-over artist), Tanya Nambiar (Singer-Songwriter), and Vikas Malani (Celebrity Tattoo Artist), to name a few. We have a listenership of over 80,000 with an average of 8,000 downloads per month spread across 55 episodes. I also curate Namastey India, an unapologetic, raw, and opinionated daily podcast that is the first-ever independent Indian podcast to have a streak of 300 days of daily uploads and counting. Namastey India plans to break Ekta Kapoor’s “Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi” episode count record! We have a listenership of over 7,00,000 with an average of 80,000 downloads per month spread across 400 episodes. Both podcasts are spread across more than 20 streaming platforms such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, JioSaavn, Gaana, Wynk, Google Podcasts, and Amazon Alexa devices, among others. There is a huge learning gap for content creators in the market. There are numerous social media apps like Youtube, Instagram, Taka Tak, Josh, etc. for sharing content, but there is no platform to teach and support content creators in upskilling themselves to create better content and in the process take advantage of tools, studios, and eventually earn money from brands. Socially Desi is developing a platform for the content creators of India. To upskill them, provide tools and studio access, and then connect them with prospective clients for earning money.
