In their own words
Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and dairy sector are main pillars of rural economy in India. These sectors are seeing the effects of digitization of the economy and are also open to embrace it. Having brush with digital in rural India, I can say that there is bit of hesitation but once they see the benefits, folks in rural areas would welcome it with open arms. Talking about Animal Husbandry, there is lot of scope for technology to help growth and expansion in the sector. Cattle and livestock are assets for the owners – mostly farmers in rural areas. These assets have economic values and life cycle associated with them. With some technological intervention, we can optimize investment and boost financial returns from the domestic animals. Here is the solution that Cattle owner may like to try out. We have developed TechCattle. It is an electronic device – a cattle wearable along with an app to keep you up to date about the health of your livestock, call for help if required. TechCattle enables monitoring of various parameters – cattle body temperature, heart rate, rumination patterns and activity levels. The data collected is analyzed with AI to arrive at an early prediction of health decease, heat cycle or any abnormalities. This helps farmer to preventively address them and improve on his yields. The TechCattle can be connected to a mobile application on Bluetooth. One can view live data of cattle in the operator application on the mobile screen. Various alerts are received by the farmer on another monitoring mobile application. The app also facilitates capturing feed consumed and milk produced along with some static or less dynamic data like vaccination status, biometrics etc. The device has chargeable battery inside and when low charge indication is observed, the device should be charged to function normally. It s is supported by an app and portal.
