Foot problems for long have remained the Cinderella of Orthopaedics. However, foot and ankle function and its mechanics are being studied closely to understand the pain and symptoms. There is now much more interest in Foot & ankle related problems and a lot more research is being conducted into foot and ankle related ailments and their remedies. Technology has made it much easier now to diagnose and treat these problems. Detection of abnormal pressure point and pain generator with podia stat, foot pressure scanner, foot alignment assessment with 3D foot scanner, early detection of neuropathy and vasculopathy with advance tools along with conventional CT, MRI scan, have made diagnosis and management of foot problems fairly easy. As we all know the feet are the weight bearer, unless they perform satisfactorily it is unlikely that the body will move properly. Lack of mobility increases lifestyle related diseases which are the major cause of death, morbidity and financial burden of twentieth century.
