Origins: I am a solo founder who started SparkJoie Retail in January 2025, with the twin goals of gamifying education and parenting. As a busy working mother, I understand the guilt and anxiety that plagues working parents who want to be involved in their children’s lives in a meaningful manner but are constrained by time. These parents want to make every moment with their child count towards building their future, especially as their kids outgrow the pre-school phase and get into elementary school. Board Games serve a dual purpose – (i) bring families together in a stress-free, screen-free zone and (ii) make abstract concepts relatable by connecting them to real-world situations. Parents can coach their kids in the simulated environment of a game - especially in higher order, real-world skills that are not taught in schools. About Voonderkinz: At Voonderkinz, we create strategy games that help children build executive function (planning, focus, adaptability), critical thinking, collaboration and emotional intelligence — redefining what it truly means to be a wunderkind in today’s world. In a rapidly changing world where social connections are being replaced by smartphones and screens, Voonderkinz invites families to participate in their child’s cognitive, social and emotional development through shared play.
