THE PROBLEM Current farm produce is unfit for consumption - Unregulated pesticide usage with chemicals and toxins in the farming land - Lead content in produce is 10 times higher than recommended - Mercury concentration is 40 times the permissible limits - People are consuming 400-500% more pesticides than permissible - 30% produce wasted during transportation to cities - Due to a nascent regulatory framework, ‘organic’ produce is not reliable.
