SPROUT PRIVATE LIMITED
Kannur, Kerala
In their own words
Plastic coated paper cups are banned in Kerala from January 1 2020. We have come up an idea of Water base dispersion coated paper cups. We got approval from Environment department and clearance from Pollution Control Board. We have a unique coating which is Biodegradable in Natural Environment unlike competitor idea like PLA coating which is compostable only in a industrial setup. This solves the important problem of littering. Our coating has passed all the food safety and migration tests. A recent study by IIT Kharajpur has shown the problems of Plastic coated paper cups. The average consumption of kerala market is about 1000 tons of paper per month. We have solved the great problem of such a huge waste problem. This technology is successful in all the present paper cup machines available in the market without any alteration or new investment by the paper cup manufacturers. We have tested the paper with 65 paper cup manufacturers in Kerala and got positive feedback. We have developed a state of art technology with a unique logo for easy identification of our paper and it avoids duplication.
