Joint related problems are the major cause for morbidity, activity limitation, physical disability, excess healthcare utilisation and reduced quality of life globally. However, there is a huge gap in this multidisciplinary innovative research focusing on musculoskeletal monitoring and rehabilitation using IOT devices, since the major attention had been into tracking various general parameters and cardiac health. There is no comprehensive IOT device/solution available that can be used for musculoskeletal monitoring and/or rehabilitation. In Straight Innovations, we intend to develop orthopaedic specific wearable IOT devices which would play pivotal role in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, treatment of common conditions like osteoarthritis and remote patient monitoring. We aim to deliver better health care devices to improve patient care and satisfaction by integrating latest technologies into orthotics and other orthopaedic rehabilitation equipments. Also we aim to provide a sustainable model in this regard by having an ongoing biomedical innovation with dedicated involvement of field specialists including experienced orthopaedic surgeons. Having the in-house services of domain experts, we plan to develop series of products that could cater patients need in various musculoskeletal disease conditions. We aim for joint specific or patient specific devices useful in various surgical and non-surgical musculoskeletal conditions, and also devices for public health benefit in conditions like osteoarthritis.
