We at Stratofield are building a next-generation aerospace ecosystem that redefines how we connect and observe our world. We recognized a gap in the market: satellites are hindered by high latency and costs, while drones lack the endurance for long-term industrial or defense applications. To bridge this, we are developing High-Altitude Platform Stations (HAPS)—"pseudo-satellites" that operate in the stratosphere, providing persistent coverage with the flexibility of a drone. We do this through a unique dual-platform strategy, integrating Lighter-Than-Air (LTA) airships with solar-powered fixed-wing UAVs. This hybrid approach overcomes the energy-intensive ascent through turbulent weather by using LTA platforms as a "mothership" to deploy assets directly into the stratosphere. This hardware is orchestrated by our proprietary AI software, which manages fleet synchronization and real-time edge processing to keep latency below 5ms. Our vision scales through a versatile "HAPS-as-a-Service" model. Since our platforms are recoverable and reusable, we offer communication and Earth observation at a fraction of satellite costs. We are targeting massive markets, from disaster zone telecommunications to continuous defense surveillance. By moving global infrastructure to the stratosphere, we are making high-altitude intelligence more sustainable and accessible.
