SURGIWISE.COM Introduction: Surgiwise is a healthcare technology startup that aims to bridge a huge gap in India’s health sector. The past few years have witnessed an intense revolution in healthcare infrastructure and penetration powered by robust government-backed programs. However, adequate solutions still need to be developed to ensure optimal utilization of services at the level of end consumer, i.e., patient. We often encounter situations where a patient requires surgery, but he is unable to objectively determine which hospital is best suited to his needs. Details on Internet are unreliable, incomplete or redundant and reviews are often deceptive. Also, there are no established benchmarks to compare value for money in healthcare, making it difficult for a common man to assess if he is indeed receiving adequate services for what he is paying. Absence of credibility and transparency results in confusion, mistrust and indecisiveness among patients. They eventually end up making crucial decisions related to healthcare on basis of sporadic personal reviews or hearsay or dubious advertisements. Moreover, In the past few years, several online healthcare aggregators have proliferated, claiming to provide seamless services to patients by organizing and co-ordinating their treatment journey. Such organizations lure patients through unethical and deceptive online advertisements. They do not allow direct dialog between patient and hospital, and unfairly use their position as an intermediary to bend facts and figures to their advantage. Clearly, this is not a best-case scenario. Selection of a hospital for a potentially life-changing surgery is a critical decision. Relevance: An objective and systematic method ( based on artificial intelligence) for hospital selection will accomplish the goal. A standardized technique that performs inclusive analysis of relevant medical factors, and derives comprehensive conclusions tailored to individual needs, will empower patients to make smart decisions and optimally utilize their resources. This is where Surgiwise aims to make its mark. We are a digital health technology platform that aims to guide patients and assist them in making logical and informed decisions while they select their hospital or healthcare provider. Surgiwise intends to develop a reliable and patient-friendly interface, providing a scientific and systematic technique to objectively compare different healthcare facilities, in accordance with individual requirements and preferences. Technology & Niche: We aim to achieve this through an Artificial Intelligence-enabled comprehensive database of hospitals and healthcare facilities, made available to target population in simplified language and uncomplicated format. Our Advanced Artificial Intelligence powered search and recommendation engine will obtain results tailored to individual requirements; thereby guiding patients to facilities which match best with their medical, personal and financial circumstances. The results will take internal feedback from the users to further improve and tailor search results. AI takes time to build and continuously improves itself with input from user data, therefore it is not easily copied and therefore it can continuously maintain its monopoly. Competetion: Since Surgiwise is based on set algorithms and manages search results taking user feedback, it is completely transparent and impartial platform for all users and registered healthcare facilities. Unlike conventional online health aggregators, Surgiwise will not function as an intermediary that lures patients through false and fake promises, with an agenda to convince them to undergo surgery at a centre where they have financial liaisons. Therefore Surgiwise will easily earn trust from both users and hospitals alike. Business Model: Healthcaresector today is a 372 Billion Dollar industry and contributes upto 19.7% of GDP and is expected to continue with a CAGR of 22%. Considering the national surgical need of 3646 surgeries per 100000 population. It is estimated that the requirement of the Indian population is an astounting 5 croresin one year. Since the majority of surgeries happen in the unorganised private sector hospitals numbering more than 43 thousand, one can imagine the scope of business in this field. To begin with, we aim to earn revenue through affiliate advertisements. Subsequently, we intend to monetize through fixed membership charges from all registered hospital beneficiaries. Our model will be totally free from direct or indirect commisions.
